Thousands to run in global solidarity as Palestine Marathon returns to Bethlehem

[Name of participant] from [Name of town] is [Running] [Walking] the Israeli Separation Wall, with thousands of participants worldwide, in solidarity with Palestine.

[London,] [date] — On Friday 17th April, while 10,000 Palestinian runners pound the streets of Bethlehem for the 10th Palestine Marathon, thousands more will run in solidarity across the world as part of Amos Trust’s Run The Wall initiative.

The Palestine Marathon takes place in the shadow of the illegal Separation Wall, with locals and internationals coming together to take on the full marathon, half marathon, 10km or family 5km fun run. Since 2020, Amos Trust has coordinated Run The Wall to coincide with the race, creating a global movement of solidarity with Palestine.

Participants can register free of charge to run or walk any distance during the same weekend as the Palestine Marathon, raising vital funds for Amos Trust’s emergency response in Gaza and the West Bank.

“Run The Wall has shown that thousands of people still stand for the right of Palestinians to live in peace and dignity,” said Said Zarzar from Holy Land Trust in Bethlehem. “Running for freedom is a powerful act of hope for all Palestinians.”

Previous participants have described the experience as transformative. “It has been an amazing three days,” said Jean from the UK, who took part in 2024. “It has confirmed how many people worldwide hold our brothers and sisters in Gaza and the West Bank in their hearts.”

Karim Saad from the UAE added: “Things you’d love to see — people from all over the world running for the same cause! One day I’m sure we’ll be able to run in the streets of Palestine!”

Registration is now open. Participants will receive access to a comprehensive toolkit including social media assets, press materials and links to the Racemate app for those wanting an official race time. Run The Wall merchandise is also available, with all proceeds supporting Amos Trust’s vital work in Palestine.
