so many Palestinians see as being the start of a century of
dispossession and suffering.
We Stand
We stand for justice and equal rights
We stand against colonialism
We stand against apartheid
We stand against ethnic cleansing
We stand for human dignity and equality
We stand this day with those whose freedom is denied
We link arms with those who have fled war, torture and despair
We come in penance for broken promises and political fixes
We walk the long road with all those who strive for peace, justice
and reconciliation
We weep with those who long to return to home
We pray in the hope that one day all people in Palestine and Israel
will live in peace as neighbours with full equal rights
“Obaida Akram Abdurahman Jawabra was a Palestinian teenager from al-Arroub refugee camp near Hebron. Yesterday, Israeli forces shot and killed Obaida with a bullet to the heart. He was 17 years old. We are heartbroken.” Ayed Abu Eqtaish writes about some heartbreaking news from al-Arroub refugee camp in the West Bank.
“Despite a signed agreement outlining the Palestinians right to live there, these residents of Sheikh Jarrah have recently received a number of eviction orders, so that their homes can be given over to Jewish Israeli citizens who claim historic ownership of the land.” Ibrahim Abul-Essad writes about Jerusalem’s ongoing catastrophe.
“As we write, once again military attacks have escalated. At this critical moment, it is vital that all parties adhere to their binding duties under international humanitarian and human rights law. All attacks on civilians and civilian objects must cease immediately.” A joint statement to commemorate Nakba Day 2021
“In Europe, if you mention the word apartheid in South Africa almost everyone expresses their disagreement with it and how much they have been against it. If you mention Black Lives Matter in the UK, almost everyone is supportive of the civil right movement. But when it comes to us Palestinians, there’s only silence.” Ahmed Masoud writes about the current situation in East Jerusalem.

Coronavirus is spreading throughout the country with renewed and devastating force, as new daily cases, at the time of writing, surpass 360,000, and the total death toll passes the grim milestone of 200,000.
