What next for Palestine and Israel?

It seems we are continually asking this question: what next for Palestine and Israel? One state, two states, Netanyahu, Bennett, boycott, the so-called peace process, Sheikh Jarrah, East Jerusalem, Gaza... and on it goes.

In June 2021, after the May bombardment and in the midst of ongoing political shifts, we gathered to take stock. The two-state solution that dominated international discourse for decades appeared increasingly impossible — settlements had fragmented the West Bank beyond recognition, Gaza remained under siege and Israeli apartheid had become undeniable.

Jonathan Cook, an award-winning journalist based in Nazareth, and Phoebe Rison, who has spent years working with Palestinian communities, joined Amos Director Chris Rose to discuss what comes next. They explored the realities on the ground, the failure of past frameworks and what justice for Palestinians actually requires.

Our guests:

  • Jonathan Cook: Journalist, Nazareth
  • Phoebe Rison: Palestinian solidarity activist
  • Chris Rose: Amos Trust Director (host)
