Karunalaya’s work seeks to ensure that the legal rights of street children, pavement dwellers and the impoverished local communities are realised. Al Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City was bombed on 17th October 2023 — up to 500 people were killed. Despite the extreme adversity, Al Ahli Arab Hospital in the centre of Gaza City, treats over 45,000 patients each year. It is a haven of peace and hope in the middle of one of the world’s most troubled areas.
