Join us this November and December for an evening of music, film, poetry and conversation, as we welcome special guests from Palestine. All proceeds will support our Christmas Appeal, helping to fund our work in Gaza.
In London, Totnes, Cardiff, Bristol, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh, we’ll be joined by Nader Abu Amsha from our partner DSPR Gaza (formerly NECC), and the incredible Palestinian performer Saied Silbak.

Hala Hanina
Hala Hanina is a PhD researcher in sociology and politics in the United Kingdom. She originally practised dentistry, but the political situation in Palestine led her to make a career shift. She is driven by a deep commitment to social and political justice.
As an activist from Gaza, Hala has been at the forefront of a successful campaign against domestic violence, working closely with both community members and government officials to drive cultural and legal changes in Gaza.
Since 2012, Hala has dedicated herself to volunteering in various fields, including youth empowerment, health and gender-based violence. During the Great March of Return, she served as a volunteer paramedic and surgical assistant, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to her community. Hala envisions a future free from occupation, discrimination, and injustice.

Ahmed Alnaouq
Ahmed Alnaouq is a Palestinian journalist and activist originally from Gaza who is now based in London. He co-founded We Are Not Numbers, a project that empowers young Palestinian writers by helping them share their personal stories in English.
Ahmed was inspired to start this initiative after the tragic loss of his brother Ayman in an Israeli airstrike in 2014. The project pairs writers from Gaza and other regions with international mentors to help them articulate their experiences, with the goal of amplifying Palestinian voices globally.
Ahmed has writing has appeared in various outlets, and he continues to focus on raising awareness of the human toll of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Saied Silbak
Saied Silbak is a Palestinian composer and oud player, born in Shafaa ’mr, in the lower Galilee of occupied Palestine. He began his musical journey by training in classical piano at four but later transitioned to the oud during his early teens to explore the depths of Arabic music.
Saied studied at the Beit Almusica Conservatoire and then pursued music and psychology at the University of Haifa. He completed his master’s degree at the prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where he is now based.
Saied is known for his ability to fuse diverse musical styles, drawing from Arabic, Turkish, Indian and Western classical traditions. His compositions have been performed at festivals and concerts around the world, including in Palestine, the UK, Belgium, France, Morocco, and Argentina.
His music is politically and socially engaged, often exploring themes of identity, resistance, and heritage. He has won several accolades, including ‘Best Artist’ at the Palestine In & Out Festival 2016. Saied continues pushing traditional Arabic music’s boundaries through his work, offering listeners a rich, multicultural auditory experience.

Nader Abu Amsha
Nader Abu Amsha is a Palestinian Christian from Beit Jala, Bethlehem, and an active figure in Palestinian civil society. A graduate of Bethlehem University with a degree in psychology and sociology, he also holds a master’s degree in international cooperation and development. Nader is a recognised expert in community-based psychosocial support and empowerment.
He co-founded and directed the East Jerusalem YMCA Rehabilitation Programme and now serves as the Executive Director for The Department of Service to Palestinian Refugees within the Middle East Council of Churches (DSPR-MECC).
