Individual pursuit

This should only be undertaken by experienced cyclists who are fit and have trained specifically for this event. It can be undertaken by those who have already joined the 3-Day Sea-To-Sea challenge or those who wish to join solely for this day.

Team pursuit

The team challenge will be a relay for teams of three riders, each completing approximately 40-50 miles of riding, undertaking two sections of approximately 20-25 miles each.

This is for those who have undertaken the 3-Day Challenge or are supporting the individual pursuit riders. Participants can either enter a 3-person team, or we can allocate them to teams.

Further details

  • regular food and water stops will be provided on route,
  • a support vehicle will follow the riders. However, riders must carry all essential equipment to mend punctures and fix minor mechanicals,
  • riders are responsible for their own safety and well-being,
  • we ask all riders to wear a helmet, be sensible when descending, and look out for one another,
  • the support vehicle can carry people’s overnight bags for those who have done the three-day challenge.

Individuals will need to find their own accommodation on Tuesday night. We are not planning on organising transfers back to Whitney Bay but will assist people with this should they require it.
