support amos trust
Your gift will enable our partners to bring justice and hope to the forgotten around the world.
We work with vibrant, grass-roots projects – based in Palestine, South Africa, Nicaragua, Burundi, India, Tanzania and beyond – that are developing local solutions to global issues.
Amos has always believed that the out-working of the Christian faith that underpins Amos requires us to: challenge injustice and the use of force, to support the most marginalised and to promote sustainable responses that seek to protect all of our futures. We therefore do not believe our work should focus on single issues, but that we should have a three-fold response to pick up on these three areas.
Amos Street Child’s focus is on supporting, and calling for the rights to be realised, of some of the most marginalised and forgotten children in our world. This work started in South Africa and, as a result of our role in creating the Street Child World Cup, has now expanded to include a network of partners in South Africa, Tanzania, Burundi and India.
Amos Palestine’s call for a just peace for Palestinians means that we work with partners in the West Bank and Gaza and have close ties to Israeli organisations.
Amos Communities’ commitment to building sustainable communities in the face of climate change has for the last 20 years been inspired by the work of our partners CEPAD, in Nicaragua, and their unique response.
We believe that we should not separate international development from advocacy and campaign activities and that all of our work needs to be inspired by and, whenever possible, led by local grass-roots initiatives.
Being involved with local projects enables us to build an in-depth understanding of the issues they face and barriers they must overcome, so we can better support the unique ways they are choosing to respond to very difficult circumstances to provide hope and create change in their communities.
