S5, E9: Run The Wall

Run The Wall
Tuesday 15th March 2022

Watch again

For our ninth webinar of the season we provided an update from those who took part in our Run The Wall fundraiser before we focused on three main aspects of why we ran:

  1. the right to freedom of movement,
  2. the 20th anniversary of the start of the building of the Separation Wall,
  3. and the intersection of the Wall and the Israeli authorities’ policy of house demolitions.

The Separation Wall began construction in 2002, cutting deep into the West Bank, separating farmers from their land, families from each other and communities from essential services. Twenty years on, it remains a monument to apartheid — justified as security but functioning as annexation and control.

We were joined by George Zeidan and Diala Isid from Right To Movement, who talked about the inspiration behind the Palestine Marathon and how it has become a focal point for solidarity with the Palestinian people. Elias D’eis from Holy Land Trust also joined us to discuss our home rebuild plans for 2022 and to update us on the 2021 rebuild programme.

Our guests:

  • George Zeidan - Right To Movement
  • Diala Isid - Right To Movement
