This webinar celebrated the launch of our second book of creative writing, Seeds of Hope: More Thoughts and Reflections from Amos Trust — a collection of poetry, essays and reflections from friends, supporters and partners exploring where we find hope in difficult times.

We were joined by special guest Abdelfattah Abusrour, founder of Alrowwad Cultural & Arts Society in Aida Refugee Camp, Bethlehem. Abdelfattah’s philosophy of ‘Beautiful Resistance’ — using arts and culture as tools of nonviolent resistance under occupation — has inspired countless young people in Aida and beyond.

The conversation explores creativity as resistance, writing as witness and the small seeds of hope that sustain us through darkness. Contributors to the book including Garth Hewitt, Martin Wroe, Jane Walker, Katie Hagley and Jill Howard-Gunasekera share readings and reflections on what it means to ‘do hope’ when hope feels hard to find.

Our guests:

  • Abdelfattah Abusrour: Founder, Alrowwad Cultural Centre, Bethlehem
  • Garth Hewitt: Musician and activist
  • Martin Wroe: Writer and journalist
  • Jane Walker: Amos Trust trustee
  • Katie Hagley: Amos Trust staff
  • Jill Howard-Gunasekera: Contributor
