Giro d'Italia protest ride
Thursday 3rd – Monday 7th May
2018

Solidarity begins on a bike. Freedom of movement is a right that Palestinians are denied, they will not even be able to watch the launch of the Giro d’Italia in Jerusalem. So grab your bike for a once in a lifetime ride.

Israel has paid €10 million* to host the opening of the Giro d’Italia for three days. We're asking you to pay £440 for five which will include your accommodation, food and support vehicle:

  • Thursday 3rd May: 100km
Ride from Tel Aviv to Jericho – 1575m ascending, 1723m descending.

  • Friday 4th May: 10.1km
Jericho time-trial event – a fun ride through the city.

  • Saturday 5th May: 100km
Take the North Ride from Jericho to Jenin – 1500m ascending.

  • Sunday 6th May: 110km
Travel south for a circuit that will take us from Bethlehem to Tuqu, down to the South Hebron Hills before riding back to Bethlehem via Hebron.

  • Monday 7th May: 70km
Ride from Bethlehem to Ben Gurion airport and home.

Important:

This trip is for serious cyclists only.
All cyclists must be confident in riding sportive distances – you will be cycling over 100km most days with frequent climbs (many over 12% gradient) in hot weather, with only limited access to a support vehicle.

And finally...
Please note that you will need to bring/organise your own bike!
