support just walk to jerusalem: just drive

It's very simple – we're asking for full equal rights for everybody who calls Israel/Palestine home. Just Walk to Jerusalem is a bold initiative to mark the centenary of the Balfour Declaration and 50 years of military occupation of the Palestinian Territories.

Just Drive

We need drivers for our Just walk to Jerusalem support vehicle. You'll have a crucial role to play and will be central to the success of the walk. Interested? Then read on.

The walkers will be up and out and on their way for 7:00 am each day so our drivers will be able to have a slightly later start but will then need to cover the following responsibilities:

  • Food & drink
You will normally need to source and buy lunch for the walkers and arrange a time to rendezvous with them to distribute the food and fill up water bottles. If there is not an obvious place to meet, you will need to buy all the supplies the day before so the walkers can pack them when they leave in the morning.

  • Accommodation
You will be responsible for travelling ahead and checking the walkers into their accommodation and doing a recce on what food is available for supper. Everyone will be camping for a few nights so on these days, you will need to help them with their tents when they arrive at the campsite and then source food for the evening.

  • Emergency cover
You will need to be available on call if there is an accident or if someone is struggling to complete the day's walk (so not too many hours in the vineyard of the Champagne region!) However, since the walkers will be plodding for 16- 22 miles each day, you will have most of the day free to explore as you are not going to need to charge around the countryside after them.

You can see an outline of each stage of the walk here. We are especially keen to find drivers for stages 1 to 12 between London to Ancona. However, if you would like to drive stages 13 and 14 (Albania – Greece and Greece – Turkey respectively), then do let us know. Simply email us at
